This Technical Standard may be cited as ACA TS 034 – 1997.
Note This Standard takes effect on gazettal: see Telecommunications Act 1997 s 376 (5).
2 Definitions
In this Standard:
ACA means the Australian Communications Authority.
customer equipment has the meaning it has in the Act.
PHS means Personal Handy Phone System, being the cordless telecommunications system to which the Association of Radio Industries and Business [Japan] standard RCR STD-28 applies.
the Act means the Telecommunications Act 1997.
3 Standard for PHS customer equipment
(1) For paragraphs 376 (2) (a), (b), (c) and (d) of the Act, the standard for PHS customer equipment is the standard set out in the document known as ‘ACA TS 034 – 1997’ approved by the ACA in the ACA meeting of 26 November 1997.
(2) However, Table 1 after clause 5.2.2.2 in that document is replaced by the following table:
