Telecommunications Technical Standard

(Line Isolation Devices—ACA TS 025 – 1997)

 

THE AUSTRALIAN COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY, makes the following technical standard under subsection 376 (1) of the Telecommunications Act 1997.

AUSTRALIAN COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY

 

 

Title

 1. This Technical Standard may be cited as ACA TS 025 – 19971.

 

[NOTE:  This Standard takes effect on gazettal:  see Telecommunications Act 1997 s. 376 (5).]

Definitions

 2. In this Standard:

“ACA” means the Australian Communications Authority;

“Airservices Australia equipment” means equipment or systems, other than those used for telephony, used by Airservices Australia for the purposes of air navigation;

“LID” means Line Isolation Device, being customer equipment connected between Airservices Australia equipment and a telecommunications network;

“the Act” means the Telecommunications Act 1997.

Standard for LIDs connected to a telecommunications network

 3. For paragraphs 376 (2) (a), (b), (c) and (d) of the Act, the standard for interworking requirements for LIDs that facilitate isolation between:

 (a) Airservices Australia equipment;  and

 (b) a telecommunications network;

 is the standard set out in the document known as “ACA TS 025 – 1997” approved by the ACA in the ACA meeting of 26 November 1997.
