Telecommunications Technical Standard

(General Requirements for Customer Equipment Connected to the Telex Network—

ACA TS 007 – 1997)

 

THE AUSTRALIAN COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY, makes the following technical standard under subsection 376 (1) of the Telecommunications Act 1997.

AUSTRALIAN COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY

 

 

Title

 1. This Technical Standard may be cited as ACA TS 007 – 19971.

 

[NOTE:  This Standard takes effect on gazettal:  see Telecommunications Act 1997 s. 376 (5).]

Definitions

 2. In this Standard:

“ACA” means the Australian Communications Authority;

“customer equipment” has the meaning it has in the Act;

“telex” means an internationally standardised telecommunications service by which users of start-stop telegraph equipment operating at 50 baud may communicate with each other via a switched telecommunications network;

“the Act” means the Telecommunications Act 1997.

Standard for customer equipment connected to the telex network

 3. For paragraphs 376 (2) (a), (b), (c) and (d) of the Act, the standard for customer equipment connected to the telex network is the standard set out in the document known as “ACA TS 007 – 1997” approved by the ACA on 10 December 1997.
