States Grants (Schools Assistance) Amendment Act 1979

An Act to amend the States Grants (Schools Assistance) Act 1977 and the States Grants (Schools Assistance) Act 1978, and for related purposes.
BE IT ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:
PART I–PRELIMINARY
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the States Grants (Schools Assistance) Amendment Act 1979.
Commencement
2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
PART II–AMENDMENTS OF STATES GRANTS (SCHOOLS ASSISTANCE) ACT 1977
Principal Act
3. The States Grants (Schools Assistance) Act 1977 is in this Part referred to as the Principal Act.
Limit on grants under section 32
4. Section 33 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting “$109,000” and substituting “$109,500”.
Limit on grants under section 34
5. Section 35 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting “$1,437,500” and substituting “$1,444,000”.
Limit on grants under section 37
6. Section 38 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting “$3,959,500” and substituting “$3,970,500”.
Schedules
7. The Schedules to the Principal Act are repealed and the Schedules set out in Schedule 1 to this Act are substituted.
Directions under Principal Act
8. A direction given under sub-section 11(3) of the Principal Act shall, by force of this section, cease to have effect upon the commencement of this Act, but this section shall not be taken to affect the previous operation of the direction.
PART III—AMENDMENTS OF STATES GRANTS (SCHOOLS
ASSISTANCE) ACT 1978
Principal Act
9. The States Grants (Schools Assistance) Act 1978 is in this Part referred to as the Principal Act.
Limit on grants under section 38
10. Section 39 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting “$103,000” and substituting “$105,000”.
Limit on grants under section 40
11. Section 41 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting “$1,409,000” and substituting “$1,441,000”.
Limit on grants under sections 43 and 44
12. Section 45 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting “$3,908,000” and substituting “$3,997,500”.
Schedules
13. The Schedules to the Principal Act are repealed and the Schedules set out in Schedule 2 to this Act are substituted.
