States Grants (Mental Health Institutions)

No. 74 of 1967

An Act to amend sections 5, 6 and 8 of the States Grants (Mental Health Institutions) Act 1964.

[Assented to 6 November 1967]

BE it enacted by the Queens Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—

Short title and citation.

1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the States Grants (Mental Health Institutions) Act 1967.

(2.) The States Grants (Mental Health Institutions) Act 1964 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

(3.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the States Grants (Mental Health Institutions) Act 19641967.

Commencement.

2. This Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the first day of July, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-seven.

Financial assistance for period from 1 July, 1964, to 30 June, 1970.

3. Section 5 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the word sixty-seven and inserting in its stead the word seventy.


Financial assistance on or after 1 July, 1970.

4. Section 6 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from sub-section (2.) the word sixty-seven and inserting in its stead the word seventy.

Expenditure for purposes of this Act.

5. Section 8 of the Principal Act is amended by adding at the end of paragraph (b) the words , being, in respect of expenditure other than expenditure to which section 6 of this Act relates, an approval given not later than the thirtieth day of June, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-nine.
