States Grants (Mental Health Institutions)

An Act to amend sections 5, 6 and 8 of the States Grants (Mental Health Institutions) Act 1964.

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—
Short title and citation.
1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the States Grants (Mental Health Institutions) Act 1967.
(2.) The States Grants (Mental Health Institutions) Act 1964 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.
(3.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the States Grants (Mental Health Institutions) Act 1964–1967.
Commencement.
2. This Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the first day of July, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-seven.
Financial assistance for period from 1 July, 1964, to 30 June, 1970.
3. Section 5 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the word “sixty-seven” and inserting in its stead the word “seventy”.
Financial assistance on or after 1 July, 1970.
4. Section 6 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from sub-section (2.) the word “sixty-seven” and inserting in its stead the word “seventy”.
Expenditure for purposes of this Act.
5. Section 8 of the Principal Act is amended by adding at the end of paragraph (b) the words “, being, in respect of expenditure other than expenditure to which section 6 of this Act relates, an approval given not later than the thirtieth day of June, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-nine”.
