STATES GRANTS (ENCOURAGEMENT OF MEAT PRODUCTION).

 

No. 9 of 1954.

An Act to amend the States Grants (Encouragement of Meat Production) Act 1949.

[Assented to 20th April, 1954.]

BE it enacted by the Queens Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—

Short title and citation.

1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the States Grants (Encouragement of Meat Production) Act 1954.

(2.) The States Grants (Encouragement of Meat Production) Act 1949, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the States Grants (Encouragement of Meat Production) Act 1949-1954.

Commencement.

2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

Financial assistance to the State of Queensland.

3. Section four of the States Grants (Encouragement of Meat Production) Act 1949 is amended by omitting from sub-section (4.) the words Seventy-five thousand five hundred pounds and inserting in their stead the words One hundred and fifty thousand pounds.

Financial assistance to the State of Western Australia.

4. Section five of the States Grants (Encouragement of Meat Production) Act 1949 is amended by omitting from sub-section (4.) the words Thirty-one thousand five hundred pounds and inserting in their stead the words Fifty thousand pounds.
