REMUNERATION TRIBUNAL

Explanatory Statement:  Determination 2010/13
Specified Statutory Officers – Remuneration and Allowances

 

  1. The Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into and determined the remuneration and significantly related matters for certain holders of public office, as it is empowered to do by the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973.
  2. In making this determination the Tribunal has informed itself through consultation in accordance with established practice.

PART 1 – GENERAL

3.                 Part 1 specifies the authority for and the date of effect of the determination and revokes and supersedes the previous principal Determination 2009/15 (as amended) applying to the Offices covered by this Determination.  The Part also contains definitions of certain words used in the Determination.

PART 2 – REMUNERATION AND RELATED MATTERS

4.                 Table 1 of Clause 2.1 provides increased Base Salary and Total Remuneration effective on and from 1 August 2010 for the Specified Statutory Offices listed in the Table.  The rates in the superseded Determination 2009/15 have been increased by 4.1% per cent (rounded) following a review of remuneration.

5.                 Clauses 2.5 and 2.6 have been updated by increasing the amount for business related vehicle usage from $3,500 to $3,750 per annum.  The rates are based on the kilometre allowance for business use of a motor vehicle.

6.                 Other provisions in Part 2 remain substantively unchanged from those contained in Determination 2009/15.

PART 3 – OFFICIAL TRAVEL

7.                 Part 3 sets out the official travel provisions.  The provisions of this Part remain substantively unchanged from those contained in Determination 2009/15.

PART 4 – COMPENSATION FOR LOSS OF OFFICE

8.                 Part 4 sets out the compensation for early loss of office provisions.  The provisions of this Part remain substantively unchanged from those contained in Determination 2009/15.

PART 5 – RECREATION LEAVE

9.                 Part 5 sets out the recreation leave provisions.  The provisions of this Part remain substantively unchanged from those contained in Determination 2009/15.
