1. Regulation 1 of the Quarantine (General) Regulations 1935 is repealed and the following regulation inserted in its stead:—

Citation.

“1. These Regulations may be cited as the Quarantine (General) Regulations.”.

Removal and destruction of garbage from vessels.

2. Regulation 20 of the Quarantine (General) Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“(3.) The master or owner of any vessel in any port in Australia shall, if so ordered by a quarantine officer, destroy or dispose of, in a manner approved by the quarantine officer, any animal waste, organic refuse, galley scraps or waste which is or may become insanitary.”.

3. Regulation 55 of the Quarantine (General) Regulations is repealed and the following regulation inserted in its stead:—

Vaccination by quarantine officers.

“55.—(1.) Quarantine officers may perform vaccinations and issue certificates of successful vaccination.

“(2.) A person to whom a certificate is issued under this regulation shall pay a fee of two shillings and sixpence for the certificate.

“(3.) The Director of Quarantine may direct that the last preceding sub-regulation shall not apply in respect of the payment of a fee by any person or class of persons.”.
