QUEENSLAND CLASS 3 HEAVY VEHICLE MARYBOROUGH SUGAR FACTORY (TABLELAND MILL) MASS EXEMPTION NOTICE 2015 (No. 1)

  1. Purpose

 

The purpose of this notice is to allow for an efficient sugar cane harvest and to protect the road infrastructure network through appropriate administrative procedures and compliance activities in accordance with the Maryborough Sugar Factory Tableland Mill Self Regulation (Mass Concession) Scheme.

 

Note:- The Maryborough Sugar Factory Tableland Mill is physically located at Mareeba.

 

2.       Title

 

This notice may be cited as the Queensland Class 3 Heavy Vehicle Maryborough Sugar Factory (Tableland Mill) Mass Exemption (Notice) 2015.

 

3.       Commencement

 

This notice commences on 1 October 2015.

 

4.       Expiry

 

This notice expires on 30 June 2016.

 

5.       Definitions

 

(1)    Unless otherwise stated, words and expressions used in this notice have the same meanings as those defined in the HVNL.

 

(2)    In this notice—

 

The Maryborough Sugar Factory Tableland Mill Self Regulation (Mass Concession) Scheme is a mass concession scheme registered with Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads.

 

 

 

 

 

6.       Application

 

(1)    This Notice applies to eligible vehicles in Queensland.

 

(2)    This Notice applies to nominated Class 3 heavy vehicles registered to operate under the Maryborough Sugar Factory Self Regulation (Mass Concession) Scheme.

 

Note:- If the Maryborough Sugar Factory Tableland Mill Self Regulation (Mass Concession) Scheme expires or is terminated or otherwise ceases to operate, this notice would cease to have any effect as the condition under clause 7 and 8(1) could no longer be met.

 

7.       Areas & Routes

 

This Notice applies to the areas set out in Maryborough Sugar Factory Tableland Mill Self Regulation (Mass Concession) Scheme.

 

8.       Exemption from Prescribed Mass Requirements

 

(1)    This Notice exempts a vehicle to which it applies from the following general mass limits specified in Schedule 1 of the Heavy Vehicle (Mass Dimension and Loading) National Regulation:

(a)    Section 2; and

(b)    Section 4; and

(c)     Section 5.

 

9.       Conditions-Maximum Permissible Mass

 

(1)    Vehicles operating under this notice must not exceed:

(a)    7.5% over prescribed mass limits; and

(b)    10% over regulation axle mass limits; and

(c)     Notwithstanding subsections a) and b) above, the manufacturer’s ratings.

 

10.   General Conditions

(1)    A vehicle operating under this Notice must comply with the provisions of the Maryborough Sugar Factory Tableland Mill Self Regulation (Mass Concession) Scheme, in conjunction with the provisions of this Notice.

(2)    A copy of this Notice must be carried at all times when operating under the conditions of this Notice and in accordance with the terms of the Maryborough Sugar Factory Tableland Mill Self Regulation (Mass Concession) Scheme.
