REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1960.*
THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1960, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations.†
Salaries payable to officers of the Second and Third Divisions.
1.—(1.) Regulation 104 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (1a.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation: —

"(1a.) For the purposes of sub-section (2.) of section 30 of the Act, the scale of rates of annual salary payable to a male officer who occupies an office the designation of which is specified in the first column of the table in this sub-regulation is, subject to this regulation, the scale specified in the second column of that table opposite to the designation of the office that he occupies.

(2.) Regulation 104 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (3.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—
"(3.) Where a female officer occupies an office in the Second Division or the Third Division—
(a) in respect of which there is applicable to that office by reason of sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation a scale of rates specified in Table A in that sub-regulation; or
(b) that is an office specified in the table in sub-regulation (1a.) of this regulation,
the rates of annual salary payable to the female officer in respect of that office are, subject to sub-regulation (5.) of this regulation, each £154 less than the scale of rates specified in Table A in sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation or in the table in sub-regulation (1a.) of this regulation, as the case may be.".
Payments of allowances in respect of performance of duties of engineering offices.
2.—(1.) Regulation 2 of Statutory Rules 1961, No. 136 is repealed.
(2.) Where the designation of an office was, during the period that commenced on the eleventh day of January, 1962, and ended on the commencement of this regulation, altered by the Public Service Board to a designation specified in the first column of the table in this sub-regulation, an officer or employee who performed the duties of the office for the whole or part of the period commencing on the eleventh day of January, 1962, and ending on the day immediately before the day on which the designation was so altered shall be paid an allowance of such amount as will have the effect of raising his total remuneration in respect of the whole or part, as the case may be, of that last-mentioned period to the remuneration that the officer or employee would have received if he had, in that whole or part, occupied an office having the classification specified in the second column of the table in this sub-regulation in relation to the office the duties of which he performed.

(3.) Where the designation of an office is, after the commencement of this regulation, altered by the Public Service Board to a designation specified in the first column of the table in this sub-regulation—
(a) an officer or employee who performed the duties of the office for the whole or part of the period commencing on the twenty-ninth day of June, 1961, and ending on the tenth day of January, 1962, shall be paid an allowance of such amount as will have the effect of raising his total remuneration in respect of the whole or part, as the case may be, of the period referred to in this paragraph to the remuneration that the officer or employee would have received if he had, in that whole or part, occupied an office having the classification specified in the second column of the table in this sub-regulation in relation to the office the duties of which he performed; and
(b) an officer or employee who performed the duties of the office for the whole or part of the period commencing on the eleventh day of January, 1962, and ending on the day immediately before the day on which the designation is so altered shall be paid an allowance of such amount as will have the effect of raising his total remuneration in respect of the whole or part, as the case may be, of the period referred to in this paragraph to the remuneration that the officer or employee would have received if he had, in that whole or part, occupied an office having the classification specified in the third column of the table in this sub-regulation in relation to the office the duties of which he performed.
