REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1964.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1964, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations.

Salaries payable to officers of the Second and Third Divisions.

1. Regulation 104 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting in the table in sub-regulation (9.), after the words—

"Chief Drafting Officer, Grade 4"—

the words—

"Chief Technical Officer".

Salaries payable to officers of the Fourth Division.

2. Regulation 106 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from item 2 in the table in sub-regulation (3.) the words "Assistant (Bureau of Meteorology);"; and

(b) by inserting in that item, after the words "Tradesman's Assistant;", the words "Weather Assistant;".

Salaries payable to officers of the Fourth Division.

3. Regulation 106 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulations (4.), (5.) and (6.) and inserting in their stead the following sub-regulations:—

"(4.) The scale of rates of annual salary payable to an officer who occupies an office specified in the first column of the table in this sub-regulation is the scale of rates of annual salary specified in the second column of that table opposite to the designation of the office occupied by the officer.

"(5.) The minimum rate of annual salary payable to an officer who occupies an office specified in the table in the last preceding sub-regulation and is of an age specified in the table in this sub-regulation is—

(a) in the case of an officer who occupies an office of Card Punch Operator (Female), Grade 1—the rate specified in the second column of the table in this sub-regulation opposite to the age of the officer; and

(b) in the case of an officer who occupies an office of Accounting Machinist (Female), Grade 1 or Typist (Female)—the rate specified in the third column of the table in this sub-regulation opposite to the age of the officer.

"(6.) Notwithstanding anything contained in the last preceding sub-regulation, an officer who occupies an office specified in the table in sub-regulation (4.) of this regulation shall, if the Board so determines, be paid salary at a rate ascertained by reference to the period of service of the officer in accordance with the table in this sub-regulation if the rate so ascertained would result in the payment of a higher rate of salary than that applicable under the last preceding sub-regulation.
