REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1968.*
THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1968, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations†
Meal allowance.
1. Regulation 68 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (3.) the words “ paragraph (a), (c) or (d) ” and inserting in their stead the words “ paragraph (a), (ba), (c) or (d) ”.
Salary payable to officers of the Third Division.
2. Regulation 105 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting after sub-regulation (11.) the following sub-regulation:—
“ (12.) Where an officer—
(a) occupies an office of Teacher, Department of Education and Science or Teacher, Grade 1;
(b) has been admitted, or is eligible to be admitted, to a degree of an Australian University, or to a degree of an overseas University, being a degree that is of a standard at least equal to the standard of a degree conferred by an Australian University; and

(c) has been in receipt of salary at the maximum rate per annum applicable to the office he occupies for a period specified in the first column of the table in this sub-regulation,
the officer shall be paid an allowance at the rate specified in the second column of that table, opposite to the period in the first column, that is applicable to the officer.

SECOND SCHEDULE Regulation 4.
Amendments of Part I. of the Fourth Schedule to the Public Service Regulations
Omit Items 2a and 2b, insert the following items:— | ||
2a. | Teacher, Grade 1........ | 1. He shall be paid an allowance at the rato of $225 per annum while associated with the teaching of Aboriginal children. |

| 2. Subject to the next succeeding paragraph, he shall be paid an allowance as provided in the next succeeding paragraph while in charge of a school of the kind known as a one-teacher school. |

| 3. For the purpose of the last preceding paragraph, the allowance is an allowance— |
|
| (a) if he is in receipt of salary at a rate less than $5,732 per annum- at the rate of $450 per annum; or |
|
| (b) in any other case—at a rate ascertained by subtracting from $6,181 per annum the rate of his salary. |
2b. | Teacher, Grade 2........ | He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of $225 per annum while associated with the teaching of Aboriginal children. |
