REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1964.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1964, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of The Public Service Regulations†

Salaries payable to officers of the Fourth Division.

1. Regulation 106 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting in item 5 in the table in sub-regulation (3.), after

the word—

" Telegraphist;"

the word—

" Telegraphist-in-training;";

(b) by inserting in item 8 in the table in sub-regulation (3.), after

the words—

" Postal Clerk-in-training;"

the word—

" Radiographer-in-training;"; and

" (a) occupies one of the following offices in the Fourth Division:—

(i) Drafting Assistant. Grade 1;

(ii) Junior Observer;

(iii) Medical Laboratory Attendant;

(iv) Medical Laboratory Technologist-in-training;

(v) Postal Clerk;

(vi) Radiographer-in-training;

(vii) Technical Assistant, Grade 1;

(viii) Telegraphist; or

(ix) Computing Assistant (Female);"

2. The First Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended as set out in the First Schedule to these Regulations.

3. The Second Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended as set out in the Second Schedule to these Regulations.

Fourth Schedule.

4. The Fourth Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended as set out in the Third Schedule to these Regulations.

Authority for payment of allowance.

5.—(l.) The Public Service Board may authorise the payment of an allowance to each officer or employee who, on or after the eighth day of July. 1965, and before the fourteenth day of February, 1966, held or performed the duties of an office specified in the table in this sub-regulation of such amount as would result in the total remuneration payable to the officer or the employee for the period during which the officer or employee held or performed the duties of that office being not less than the remuneration that would have been payable to the officer or employee in respect of that period if the scale of rates applicable to the office had been the scale of rates specified in that table opposite to that office.

(2.) The Public Service Board may authorise the payment of an allowance to each officer or employee who, on or after the fourteenth day of February, 1966, and before the commencement of these regulations, held or performed the duties of an office specified in the table in this sub-regulation of such amount as would result in the total remuneration payable to the officer or the employee for the period during which the officer or employee held or performed the duties of that office being not less than the remuneration that would have been payable to the officer or employee in respect of that period if the scale of rates applicable to the office had been the scale of rates specified in that table opposite to that office.

SECOND SCHEDULE

Regulation 3.

AMENDMENTS OF THE SECOND SCHEDULE TO THE PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATIONS

Omit item 10, insert the following item:—
10 Mail Officer.......	1. He shall, be paid an allowance at the rate of $114.00 per annum if—
	(a) he has passed the test determined by the Board for the purpose of this paragraph; and
	(b) he has not attained the age of 21 years.
	2. In addition to the allowance specified in the last preceding paragraph, he shall be paid an allowance at the rate of $56.00 per annum if—
	(a) he has, after passing the test referred to in the last preceding paragraph, passed the test determined by the Board for the purpose of this paragraph; and
	(b) he has not attained the age of 21 years.
	3. The allowance under this item shall cease to be payable on the day immediately prior to the date on which the officer attains the age of 21 years.
