REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1964.*
THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1964, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations†
Salary for purposes of furlough.
1. Regulation 62 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting paragraph (m) of sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following paragraph:—
" (m) allowances—
(i) payable, under clause 1 of Determination No. 9 of 1928 made by the Public Service Arbitrator as varied by subsequent Determinations, to mail officers in charge of travelling post office vans;
(ii) payable, under clause 14 of Determination No. 30 of 1926 made by the Public Service Arbitrator as varied by subsequent Determinations, to postmen on the permanent relieving staff; and

(iii) payable, under clause 1 of Determination No. 13 of 1930 made by the Public Service Arbitrator as varied by subsequent Determinations, to telephonists employed in the operation of the overseas radio telephone service,
if the officer concerned has received the allowance for not less than two-thirds of his working time in the twelve months immediately preceding the date upon which his furlough commences or payment is to be made in lieu of furlough; and ".

2. Regulation 106 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting the table in sub-regulation (8.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

(a) in the case of an officer who occupies an office of Apprentice or Technician-in-training (Electrical) —the rate specified in the second column of the table in this sub-regulation opposite to the age of the officer; and
(b) in the case of an officer who occupies an office of Technician-in-training or Technician-in-training (Radio)—the rate specified in the third column of the table in this sub-regulation opposite to the age of the officer.

Conditions of transfer from Fourth Division to Third Division.
3. Regulation 112 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) all the words from and including " the minimum and maximum of the scale of rates " to the end of that sub-regulation and inserting in their stead the words " the minimum and maximum of the scale of rates of annual salary of which are $1,350.00 and $2,762.00 respectively, unless he passes an examination held in accordance with, and complies with the conditions to qualify for transfer or promotion to those offices specified in, a determination of the Board made under section 53 of the Act ".

5. The Second Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended as set out in the Second Schedule to these Regulations.
Fourth Schedule.

AMENDMENTS OF THE SECOND SCHEDULE TO THE PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATIONS
Omit item 10, insert the following item:— | |
10 Mail Officer............ | 1. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of $114.00 per annum if— |
| (a) he has passed the test determined by the Board for the purpose; and |
| (b) he has not attained the age of 21 years. |
| 2. The allowance under this item shall cease to be payable on the day immediately prior to the date on which the officer attains the ago of 21 years. |

| 2. The allowance under this item shall cease to be payable on the day immediately prior to the date on which the officer attains the age of 21 years. |
