REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1960.*
THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1960, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

AMENDMENTS OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATIONS.†
Prescribed organizations for the purposes of section 72A of the Act.
1. Regulation 61A of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting after the words—
"Intergovernmental Committee for European Migration;"
the words—
"Intergovernmental Maritime Consultative Organization;".

Salaries payable to officers of the Second or Third Division.
2. Regulation 104 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting in the table in sub-regulation (9.) after the words—
"Senior Technical Officer, Grade 2"
the words—
"Supervisor, Grade 1
Supervisor, Grade 2".
3. Regulation 105 of the Public Service Regulations is repealed and the following regulation is inserted in its stead:—
Allowances in addition to salary.
"105.—(1.) A telegraphist who has passed an examination for promotion to an office of Senior Telegraphist may, with the approval of the Chief Officer, be paid an allowance at the rate of £12 per annum until he is promoted to a higher office.
"(2.) A telegraphist in the Third Division shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £38 per annum if—
(a) he has passed an examination approved by the Hoard for the purpose of this sub-regulation; and
(b) his salary under these Regulations does not exceed £1,002 per annum.
"(3.) A telegraphist in the Third Division shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £38 per annum when rostered for picturegram duty.".
Promotion on the basis of senior efficient officer available.
4. Regulation 109g of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—
"(1.) The following offices are prescribed offices for the purposes of sub-section (3A.) of section 50 of the Act:—
Assistant, Grade 1.
Assistant, Grade 2.
Assistant Storeman.
Clerical Assistant, Grade 1.
Hospital Assistant (Female), Grade 2.
Labourer, Grade 1.
Lift Attendant.
Lineman, Grade 2.
Mail Officer.
Monitor.
Monitor (Female).
Orderly, Grade 1.
Postal Assistant.
Postal Officer.
Postman.
Preventive Officer, Grade 1.
Quarantine Assistant, Grade 1.
Storeman.
Telephonist.".
Second Schedule.
5. The Second Schedule to the Public Service Regulations is amended—
(a) by inserting after item 13 the following item:—
"13A | Overseer, Telephone Branch, Postmaster-General's Department | 1. He may be paid an allowance at the rate of £38 per annum while in charge of a country telephone exchange."; |
(b) by omitting items 15 and 25;
(c) by omitting from item 16 the words "Postal Officer" and inserting in their stead the word "Postman";
(d) by omitting item 29 and inserting in its stead the following item:—
"29 | Telegraphist ............... | 1 He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £38 per annum if— (a) he has passed an examination approved by the Board for the purpose of this item; and (b) his salary under these Regulations does not exceed £1,002 per annum. |
2. He shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £38 per annum when rostered for picturegram work."; |
(e) by omitting item 35 and inserting in its stead the following items:—
"35 | Sister ................... | 1. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £64 per annum while in charge of an operating theatre. |
2. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £26 per annum if she holds a post-graduate nursing certificate recognized by the Board and performs duties of the kind to which the certificate relates. | ||
"35A | Senior Sister .............. | 1. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £64 per annum while in charge of three and not more than five operating theatres. |
2. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £90 per annum while in charge of six or more operating theatres. | ||
3. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £26 per annum while in charge of a ward staffed to accommodate 55 or more patients. | ||
4. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £64 per annum while in charge of the Central Sterilizing Department, Repatriation General Hospital, Concord. | ||
5. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £44 per annum while employed as Evening Superintendent. | ||
6. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £64 per annum while employed as Night Superintendent. | ||
7. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £26 per annum if she holds a post-graduate nursing certificate recognized by the Board and performs duties of the kind to which the certificate relates." ; |
and
(f) by omitting item 38 and inserting in its stead the following item:—
"38 | Tutor Sister............... | 1. She shall be paid an allowance at the rate of £26 per annum if she holds a post-graduate nursing certificate recognized by the Board and performs duties of the kind to which the certificate relates.". |
