Amendments of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations†

Rates of travelling allowances.

1. Regulation 57 of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

2. Regulation 64 of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the figures “£1,070” and inserting in their stead the figures “£1,089”.

Overtime.

3. Regulation 65 of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (5.) the figures “£1,419” and inserting in their stead the figures “£1,444”;

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (5.) the figures “£1,265” and inserting in their stead the figures “£1,290”;

(c) by omitting from sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (8.) the figures “£2,450” and inserting in their stead the figures “£2,637”;

(d) by omitting from sub-paragraph (ii) of paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (8.) the figures “£2,296” and inserting in their stead the figures “£2,483”.

Saturday duty by certain officers of the Fourth Division.

4. Regulation 65aa of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) & Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (5.) the figures “£1,419” and inserting in their stead the figures “£1,444”; and

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (5.) the figures “£1,265” and inserting in their stead the figures “£1,290”.

Sunday duty.

5. Regulation 65b of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (2.) the figures “£1419” and “£1265” and inserting in their stead the figures “£1,444” and “£1,290”, respectively;

(b) by omitting from sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (2.) the figures “£1419” and “£1265” and inserting in their stead the figures “£1,444” and “£1,290”, respectively;

(c) by omitting from sub-paragraph (ii) of paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (2.) the figures “£1419” and “£1265” and inserting in their stead the figures “£1,444” and “£1,290”, respectively;

Payment for duty on a holiday.

6. Regulation 65c of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (8.) the figures “£1,419” and inserting in their stead the figures “£1,444”;

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (8.) the figures “£1,265” and inserting in their stead the figures “£1,290”; and

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (9.) the figures “£2,450” and “£2,296” and inserting in their stead the figure “£2,637” and “£2,483”, respectively.

Higher duties.

7. Regulation 66 of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (3.) the figures “£1,297” and inserting in their stead the figures “£1,320”;

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (3.) the figures “£1,143” and inserting in their stead the figures “£1,166”;

(c) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (17.) the figures “£2,306” and inserting in their stead the figures “£2,345”; and

(d) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (17.) the figures “£2,152” and inserting in their stead the figures “£2,191”.

Salaries payable to officers of the Second and Third Divisions.

8. Regulation 71 of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

9. Regulation 72 of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (4.) the figures “£678-£706-£734-£762” and inserting in their stead the figures “£693-£722-£750-£779”;

(b) by omitting from the table in sub-regulation (5.) the figures “678” and inserting in their stead the figures “693”;

(c) by omitting from the table in sub-regulation (6.) the figures “678”, “706”, “734” and “762” and inserting in their stead the figures “693”, “722”, “750” and “779”, respectively;

(d) by omitting from sub-paragraph (iii) of paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (8.) the words “Six hundred and seventy-eight pounds” and inserting in their stead the words “Seven Hundred and seventy-nine pounds”; and

(e) by omitting from the table in paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (8.) the figures “84” and “126” and inserting in their stead the figures “85” and “128”, respectively.

Variation of salaries.

10. Regulation 73 of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended by omitting from the table in sub-regulation (3a.) the figures “622” and inserting in their stead the figures “693”.

Conditions of transfer from Fourth to Third Division.

11. Regulation 78 of the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the figures “£499” and “£968” and inserting in their stead the figures “£529” and “£1,19.6”, respectively.

The Schedule.

12. The Schedule to the Public Service (Parliamentary Officers) Regulations is repealed and the following Schedule inserted in its stead:—

Application.

13. The Parliamentary Head may authorize the payment of an allowance, in respect of the period that commenced on the eighth day of July, 1965, and ended on the day immediately before the commencement of these Regulations, to each officer and employee of such an amount as would result in the total remuneration of the officer or employee being not less than the total remuneration that would have been payable to the officer or employee in respect of that period if the amendments made by these Regulations had taken effect on the eighth day of July, 1965.
