Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park

 

PROHIBITION OF ENTRY TO PART OF THE PARK

 

ULURU BASE WALK

 

 

 

I, Anna Morgan, Assistant Secretary, Parks Australia Division, Department of Environment, delegate of the power of the Director of National Parks under subregulation 12.23(3) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2000, having taken into account that access to that part of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park being the Uluru Base Walk might endanger public safety HEREBY PROHIBIT entry to that part of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park being the Uluru Base Walk described in the Schedule hereto by all persons at all times specified in the Schedule.

Prohibited Area

 

That part of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park being the Uluru Base Walk, as indicated by the coloured lines in the plan below.

1. Base Walk North East

2. Lungkata Walk

 

 

Prohibited Times

 

(a)   The Base Walk Northeast Walk: after 11:00am on days when the forecast maximum temperature for Yulara issued by the Bureau of Meteorology at 4.00pm the previous day is 40 degrees Celsius or greater.

 

(b)   The Lungkata Walk: after 2:00pm on days when the forecast maximum temperature for Yulara issued by the Bureau of Meteorology at 4.00pm the previous day is 40 degrees Celsius or greater.
