These Regulations may be cited as the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection (National Residue Survey — Deer) Regulations.
2 Interpretation
In these Regulations:
Deer Levy Collection Regulations means the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection (Deer and Deer Velvet) Regulations.
NRS levy means National Residue Survey Levy.
Note The National Residue Survey (Livestock Slaughter) Levy Act 1992 is prescribed for the definition of ‘levy’ in subsection 4 (1) of the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection Act 1991: see regulation 4 of the Primary Industries Levies and Charges (National Residue Survey — Livestock Slaughter) Regulations.
3 What is the rate of NRS levy?
For the purposes of paragraph 9 (2) (b) of the National Residue Survey Administration Act 1992, the rate of NRS levy payable per kilogram of weight of slaughtered deer is 3 cents.
Note For the purposes of section 6 of the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection Act 1991, NRS levy payable in relation to slaughtered deer is due for payment on the last day for lodging a return for the deer: see subsection 9 (3) of the National Residue Survey Administration Act 1992 and regulations 11 and 13 of the Deer Levy Collection Regulations.
4 Additional information in returns
A person who lodges a return under the Deer Levy Collection Regulations must include in the return particulars of the total amount of NRS levy payable by the person on the slaughter of deer to which the return relates.
Note 1 For penalty, see section 24 of the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Collection Act 1991.
Note 2 For provisions relating to returns and records in relation to the slaughter of deer, see regulations 13, 15, 16 and 17 of the Deer Levy Collection Regulations.
