PROVISIONAL REGULATIONS UNDER THE POST AND TELEGRAPH ACT 1901.
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby certify that, on account of urgency, the undermentioned amended Regulations under the Post and Telegraph Act 1901, namely:—
Postal Notes,
should come into immediate operation, and make the amended Regulations to come into operation forthwith as Provisional Regulations.

Postal Notes,
The Regulations under this head (Gazette, No. 26 of 5th June, 1902, and Statutory Rules 1905, No. 81, and 1909, No. 87), are amended:—
(a) By repealing Regulations 1 and 2 and inserting the following new regulations in lieu thereof:—
1. Postal Notes may be obtained at—
The Chief Money Order Office—
Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon.
The Stamp Sales Office, General Post Office in each State—
During office hours when the Money Order Office is closed.
At most Post Offices in the Commonwealth—
During the hours they are open for the sale of stamps, but not later than 8 p.m.
2. They shall be payable at the Chief Money Order Office—
Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon.
At Country and Suburban Postal Note Offices, up to 6 p.m.
(b) By omitting from Regulation 4, the words “of the State of issue,” and inserting the words “valid in the Commonwealth” in lieu thereof; and
(c) By omitting from the last two lines of Regulation 9 the words “of the State of payment,” and inserting the words “valid in the Commonwealth” in lieu thereof.
