POSTAL SERVICES REGULATIONS 2013

Regulations No. 1 of 2013

I, Neil Albert Pope, Administrator of Norfolk Island, acting in accordance with the advice of the Executive Council of Norfolk Island, make the following Regulations under section 39 of the Postal Services Act 1983.

1. Short title

 These Regulations may be cited as the Postal Services Regulations 2013.

2. Commencement

 These Regulations commence on the day notification of their being made is published in the Gazette and take effect from 1 June 2013.

3. Repeal

 The Postal Services Regulations 1994 are repealed.

4. Rate for local postal transmissions

 For the purposes of subparagraph 15(2)(a)(i) of the Postal Services Act 1983, the rate of postage for any prescribed postal article posted in Norfolk Island for delivery in Norfolk Island is fifteen cents.

Note — Under subsection 15 (1) of the Postal Services Act 1983, the charges for delivery to a place in Australia are the same as those fixed by Australia Post as if Norfolk Island were a part of New South Wales; and under subsection 15(3) the charges for delivery to a place outside Australia are the same as if posted within Australia.
