Complaints to the ABC
Seeking people (or their descendants) who wrote about their view of the Australian accent in letters to the ABC magazine, The ABC Weekly, in 1940 and 1942. I am writing about this for a history of the Macquarie Dictionary. I need permissions to quote the contents of the letters.
The writers are: Florence Patterson of Baulkham Hills; M Whiddon of Artarmon; Violet Benton of Neutral Bay; R Kellett of Leichhardt; SPEECH of Toowoomba; and I M H of Sydney.
