An Act to amend the Passenger Movement Charge Act 1978, and for related purposes

[Assented to 30 June 2001]

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1  Short title

  This Act may be cited as the Passenger Movement Charge Amendment Act 2001.

2  Commencement

  This Act commences on 1 July 2001.

3  Schedule(s)

  Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.


Schedule 1Amendment of the Passenger Movement Charge Act 1978

 

1  Section 6

Omit “$30”, substitute “$38”.

2  Application

The amendment of section 6 of the Passenger Movement Charge Act 1978 made by this Schedule applies in relation to the departure of a person from Australia on or after 1 July 2001, unless:

 (a) the person departs using a ticket or equivalent authority; and

 (b) the ticket or authority was sold or issued before 1 July 2001.
