Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Act 1975
ORDER UNDER SUBSECTION 67
WHEREAS -
(A) Yanping Wen is a foreign person for the purposes of the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Act 1975 (‘the Act’);
(B) Yanping Wen gave notice under the Act on 18 March 2016 that they propose to acquire an interest in the Australian land situated at 110 Ducks Lane, Seville, Victoria, 3139 (‘proposed acquisition’);
I, Lyndall Crompton, as an authorised officer of the Commissioner of Taxation under section 67 of the Act, PROHIBIT the proposed acquisition by Yanping Wen because I am satisfied that the proposed acquisition would be contrary to the national interest. This order takes effect on the day it is published in the Gazette.
