NTC-25074 - EXEMPTION FROM DISPLAYING AN AVIATION SECURITY IDENTIFICATION CARD IN A SECURE AREA

 

 

I am a Delegate of the Secretary of the Department of Home Affairs. Under subregulation 3.08(3) of the Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005, I:

 

GIVE emergency services personnel and volunteers who have been invited by the City of Karratha to participate in the full field aerodrome emergency exercise ‘Iron Galah’, an exemption from displaying an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) in the secure area of Karratha Airport, when under escort in the airside area moving along the designated transit routes between Gate 6 and the airside special event zones (Zones) 1, 2, and 3 established in notice NTC-25067.

 

This notice is subject to the following conditions:

 

  1. Access to the airside area from Gate 6 to Zones 1, 2 and/or 3 is to be permitted only once a Karratha Airport Aerodrome Reporting Officer is satisfied the person is:

 

  1. an employee of the state/local emergency service organisation taking part in the exercise; or
  2. an authorised exercise volunteer that is registered to take part in the exercise.

 

2.       The airside movement of emergency services personnel and exercise volunteers between Gate 6 and Zones 1, 2 and 3 is to occur:

 

  1. along the designated transit routes identified in notice NTC-25067;
  2. under vehicular escort by an employee of the City of Karratha (ASIC holder); and
  3. in vehicles that have been approved and designated for use for the event by the City of Karratha and/or are authorised emergency vehicles or vehicles driven by City of Karratha airport employees.

 

3.       Drivers of emergency service vehicles involved in the exercise will have completed airside driver training prior to commencement of the exercise.

 

This exemption is in force from 0930hrs to 1600hrs on 24 June 2023.
