Amendments to the Macquarie Island Toothfish Fishery Management Plan 2006
The Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) intends to determine amendments to the Macquarie Island Toothfish Fishery Management Plan 2006 (MIT Management Plan) under subsection 20(1) of the Fisheries Management Act 1991 (FMA).
The proposed amendment will move the mechanism for setting the dates of the fishing year from the MIT Management Plan to a determination, make minor changes to some definitions and remove specific reference to the Bycatch Action Plan.
In accordance with subsection 17(2) of the FMA, AFMA invites interested persons to provide written submissions on the draft amendments to the MIT Management Plan by 5pm on 3 November 2012. Written submissions should be forwarded to:
