NOTICE OF DECLARATION OF SECURITY REGULATED PORT – PORT OF TOWNSVILLE

 

 

I, ROGER VAUGHAN LONIE, Ag. Regional Director, Transport Security Operations, Office of Transport Security, under subsection 13(1) of the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003 (the Act):

 

REVOKE the declaration of the security regulated port of Port of Townsville published in the Gazette (GN43, 2 November 2011); and

 

DECLARE that the area of the port of Port of Townsville intended for use either wholly or partly in connection with the movement, loading, unloading, maintenance or provisioning of security regulated ships, the boundaries of which are shown on the attached map and descriptions, to be a security regulated port.

 

This Notice commences upon publication in the Gazette.

Security Regulated Port

The Security Regulated Port of Townsville is that area of land and water contained within and bound by a line commencing at point 19 15’ 9.133”S, 146 49’ 48.577”E (S.01)

 

  • East (approx. 60m) along fence to point on edge of the wharf at the point closest to 19° 15' 01.56905" S and 146° 49' 50.01504"E (10.27);
  • SSW for a distance of 162m following the fence-line erected along centre of the relieving slab running between the primary wharf and the wharf backing area to the point closest to 19° 15' 06.54888" S and 146° 49' 48.19249" E (10.28);
  • SW  for  a  distance  of  13m  along  the fence-line  to  the  point  closest  to 19° 15' 06.74422" S and 146° 49' 47.87874" E (10.29);
  • SW for  a  distance  of  5m  along  the  fence-line  to  the  point  closest  to  19°  15' 06.78610" S and 146° 49' 47.69612" E (10.30);
  • South for a distance of 16m along the fence-line to the point closest to 19° 15' 07.29116" S and 146° 49'47.82264" E (10.31);
  • Upon accessing the stairs or lift to level 2 the LRZ will continue in a WSW direction for a distance of 36m (pedestrian overpass) and descend the stairs or lift into the cruise terminal to the point closest to 19° 15' 07.58840" S and 146° 49' 46.64180" E (10.32);
  • NNW across the interior rear of the cruise terminal for a distance of 18m to the western wall at the point closest to 19° 15' 06.99828" S and 146° 49' 46.46014" E (10.33);
  • West for a distance of 6m to the point closest to 19° 15' 07.01416" S and 146° 49' 46.38578" E (10.34);
  • South along the wall of temporary partitions erected to establish the LRZ   for a distance of 21m to the southern wall of the interior of the cruise terminal to the point closest to 19° 15' 07.69768" S and 146° 49' 46.59133" E (10.35);
  • ENE for a distance of 40m ascending the stairs or lift from the cruise terminal to the pedestrian  overpass  to  the  point  closest  to  19°  15'  07.39137" S  and  146°  49' 47.86034" E (10.36).
