Notice of declaration of security regulated port – PORT of onslow – beadon point
I, BRIAN RANKIN, Ag REGIONAL DIRECTOR, Transport Security Operations Perth, Office of Transport Security, under subsection 13(1) of the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003 (the Act):
REVOKE the declaration of the security regulated port of Onslow – Beadon Point published in the Gazette (No. S189, 04 June 2004) on Line no.25 of Column A (the port) and shown on the map identified as 25, Port of Onslow – Beadon Point’ on page 29; and
DECLARE that the area of the port of Onslow – Beadon Point intended for use either wholly or partly in connection with the movement, loading, unloading, maintenance or provisioning of security regulated ships, the boundaries of which are shown on the attached map and descriptions, to be a security regulated port.
This Notice commences upon publication in the Gazette.

SECURITY REGULATED PORT BOUNDARY DESCRIPTION
Description of Port of Onslow
State: Western Australia
Map Number: GEOCAT 70455
The Security Regulated Port of Onslow is all of that area of land and water contained within and bounded by a line commencing at a point on the high water mark of the coastline of Western Australia approximately 1.5 kilometres south-west of the of Onslow salt wharf jetty closest to latitude 21° 38' 49.67" south, longitude 115° 05' 31.54" east (Point 1);
Thence initially north-westerly but generally north-north-easterly sequentially connecting points in the Indian Ocean at coordinates:

Thence southerly to a point on the high water mark of the coastline of Western Australia near Beadon Point and approximately 1 kilometre north-east of the Onslow salt wharf jetty at latitude 21º 37’ 54.16” south, longitude 115º 06’ 34.56” east (Point 5);
Thence generally south-westerly along that high water mark to its intersection with the north-eastern face of the salt wharf jetty closest to latitude 21° 38' 13.67" south, longitude 115° 06' 04.29" east (Point 6);
Thence south-easterly along that jetty face for a distance of approximately 45 metres to its intersection with a security fence closest to latitude 21° 38' 14.99" south, longitude 115°0 6' 04.84" east (Point 7);
Thence initially easterly but generally westerly for a distance of approximately 370 metres along a security fence located on the north-western side of Seaview Drive sequentially connecting points on that security fence closest to coordinates:

Thence easterly along that security fence to its intersection with the south-western face of the salt wharf jetty closest to latitude 21° 38' 15.07" south, longitude 115° 06' 04.50" east (Point 16);
Thence north-north-westerly along that jetty face for a distance of approximately 40 metres to its intersection with the high water mark of the coastline of Western Australia closest to latitude 21° 38' 13.87" south, longitude 115° 06' 04.00" east (Point 17);
Thence generally south-westerly along that high water mark to the point of commencement.
Notes:
1. The ‘high water mark’ referred to in the Port Description and associated maps means the line of
‘mean high water springs’.
2. Unless otherwise stated, all coordinates are in reference to the WGS 84 geodetic datum.
3. In the event that a point of latitude and longitude which is stated to lie on the high water mark is found to lie on the landward or seaward side of the high water mark the point is to be regarded as being the point on the high water mark closest to that point of latitude and longitude.
4. Unless stated otherwise, the Security Regulated Port described above includes all water and land inside the area and excludes all private or recreational wharves, jetties and marinas.
5. Unless otherwise stated the landside boundaries are fenced.
6. Unless otherwise stated the lines between coordinates are geodesic lines.
7. This description should be read in conjunction with the Security Regulated Port Boundary map. In the event of an inconsistency between the written description and the map, the former prevails.
