Notice of declaration of security regulated port – Port of Gladstone
I, ROGER VAUGHAN LONIE, Acting Regional Director, Transport Security Operations, Office of Transport Security, under subsection 13(1) of the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003 (the Act):
REVOKE the declaration of the security regulated port of Port of Gladstone as published in the Gazette (No. GN 22, 2 June 2004) on line no. 2 of Column A (the port) and shown on the map identified as “2. Port of Gladstone’ on page 1430; and
DECLARE that the area of the port of Port of Gladstone intended for use either wholly or partly in connection with the movement, loading, unloading, maintenance or provisioning of security regulated ships, the boundaries of which are shown on the attached map and descriptions, to be a security regulated port.
This Notice commences upon publication in the Gazette.

The Security Regulated Port of Gladstone is all of that area of land and water contained within and bounded by a line commencing at a point on the high water mark of the eastern coastline of Curtis Island, Queensland, near Connor Bluff, nearest the point of latitude 23◦ 42’ 47.06: south, longitude 151◦ 17’ 44.59: east;
thence south-easterly to a point of latitude 23◦ 53’ 48.00” south, longitude 151◦ 32’ 36.00” east; thence south along that meridian of longitude to the point of latitude 23◦ 57’ 07.12” south;
thence south-westerly to a point on the high water mark of the northern coastline of Hummock Hill Island, Queensland, on Tiber Point, nearest the point of latitude 23◦ 59’ 29.87” south, longitude 151◦26’ 29.91” east;
thence generally north-westerly along that high water mark to the northern extremity of that island;

The Security Regulation Port of Gladstone includes all islands, navigable bays, rivers, creeks and inlets entering or contained within the area described, other than those closed by the straight lines defined within the description.
Notes:
1. The ‘high water mark’ referred to in this Port Description and associated maps means the line of ‘mean high water springs’.
2. Unless otherwise stated, all coordinates are in WGS84 geodetic datum.
3. The description is based on survey conducted on 22-26 September 2008 and compilation from material provided by the Gladstone Port Corporation and Office of Transport Security.
4. In the event that a point of latitude and longitude which is stated to lie on the high water mark is found to lie on the landward or seaward side of the high water mark the point is to be regarded as being the point on the high water mark closest to that point of latitude and longitude.
5. Unless stated otherwise, the Security Regulation Port described above includes all water and land inside the area and excludes all private or recreational wharves, jetties and marinas.
6. Unless otherwise stated the landside boundaries are fenced.
7. Unless otherwise stated the lines between co-ordinates are rhumb lines (loxodromes).
8. This description is should be read in conjunction with the Security Regulation Port Boundary maps.
9. In the event of an inconsistency between the written description and the maps, the former prevails.
