Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003
Notice of declaration of security regulated port – PORT OF GERALDTON
I, BRIAN THOMAS RANKIN, Acting Regional Director, Transport Security Operations, Office of Transport Security, under subsection 13(1) of the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003 (the Act):
REVOKE the declaration of the security regulated port of Port of Geraldton published in the Gazette (No. GN 28, 21 July 2010);
REVOKE, Notice M01146 dated 9 August 2013; and
DECLARE that the area of the port of Port of Geraldton intended for use either wholly or partly in connection with the movement, loading, unloading, maintenance or provisioning of security regulated ships, the boundaries of which are shown on the attached map and descriptions, to be a security regulated port.
This Notice commences upon publication in the Gazette.

Security Regulated Port Boundary Description
Description of Port of Geraldton
Where the water meets land, the boundary will be at the high- water mark.
Commencing at north eastern corner of the port at coordinate 28°46’20.69”S,114°36’08.43”E the boundary follows the fence line south then turning south-west to coordinate 28°46’34.94”S, 114°36’07.60”E. It turns 90 left and continues on in a south-easterly direction to coordinate 28°46’35.22”S, 114°36’07.86”E, then turning 90° left and continuing on north-easterly to 28°46’34.85”S, 114°36’08.39”E, then turning 90 right and continuing on to coordinate 28°46’34.94”S, 114°36’08.47”E, where the boundary then turns 90° right and heads off in a south-westerly direction to 28°46’35.43”S, 114°34’07.78”E before turning 90° right and travelling north-westerly to 28°46’35.34”S, 114°36’07.69”E, then turning 90° right and heading in a north-easterly direction to 28°46’35.25”S, 114°36’07.81”E before turning 90° left travelling north-westerly to coordinate 28°46’34.96”S, 114°36’07.56”E.
The boundary turns left and follows the fence line westerly in an ark before turning right and north to coordinate 28°46’35.62”S, 114°36’00.19”E where it turns westerly again and continues along the fence line to 28°46’37.49”S, 114°35’45.88”E.
Then boundary turns 90° south at this point crossing the fence by way of a conveyance tunnel some 30ft above the ground. The boundary continues in a southerly direction to a gate which locks off the tunnel between coordinates 28°46’38.07”S, 114°35’45.88”E and 28°46’38.07”S, 114°35’45.81”E, from this point the boundary it turns 90° right, crosses the tunnel then turns right again and heads north to the coordinate 28°46’37.49”S, 114°35’45.81”E back at the fence line.
The boundary then heads off in a westerly direction following the fence to coordinate 28°46”37.45”S, 114°35.86”E, where it turns south crossing the fence line again and following the eastern wall of a conveyance tunnel in a southerly direction to a gate which locks off the tunnel between coordinates 28°46’39.46”S, 114°35’36.22”E and 28°46’39.48”S, 114°35’36.01”E, from this point the boundary it turns 90° right, crosses the tunnel then turns right again and heads in a northerly direction to the coordinate 28°46’37.35”S,114°35’35.64”E back at the fence line.
The boundary then heads west through coordinate 28°46’37.35”S,114°35’33.89”E to 28°46’37.33”S, 114°35’33.52”E, then turns north and follows the fence to coordinate 28°46’37.14”S, 114°35’33.47”E before turning westerly and continuing on through 28°46’37.08”S, 114°35’33.16”E following the fence along to the south-west corner of the port and entry point western end of Ian Bogle Rd, where it turns 90° right across the entry point heading north to the northern corner of the entry, then turns right again and follows the fence east, then south, then east, then south, then east and the north to skirt around the southern edge of the substation, before turning east again to coordinate 28°46’35.99”S, 114°3530.23”E.
The boundary then turns 90° south and follows the fence to coordinate 28°46’36.64”S, 114°35”30.23”E where it turns left 90° and runs along the fence to 28°46’36.64”S, 114°35’32.11”E before turning left and running north-east along the fence and then the eastern wall of the shed, then the fence again before turning 90° right and running north-west to a security gate at 28°46’28.18”S, 114°35’32.83”E.
The boundary then turns north-east across the entry point and continues to 28°46’27.85”S, 114°35’33.01”E, before turning south-east and following the fence to 28°46’27.94”S, 114°35’33.22”E, then turning north-east again across the security gate to 28°46’27.66”S, 114°35’33.37”E, then turning south-east once more and continuing on to 28°46’27.86”S, 114°35’33.87”E, where it turns north-east again continues along the fence to the southern wall of the shed at 28°46’27.46”S, 114°35’34.05”E.
The boundary follows the southern wall of the shed in a north-westerly direction the south-west corner of the shed at 28°46’27.33”S, 114°35’33.68”E, where it turns 90° right and follows the western wall of the shed to 28°46’23.29”S, 114°35’35.57”E, where it turns 150° around to the left and follows the fence, through 28°46’23.58S, 114°35’35.12”E south-west around to 28°46’23.75”S, 114°35’34.69”E, where it turns north across the entry point to 28°46’22.70”S, 114°35’34.49”E.
The boundary then follows the high-water mark in a north easterly direction, then north to the northern point of the port at 28°46’03.63”S, 114°35’56.41”E.
The boundary then turns south following the high-water mark to 28°46’14.95”S, 114°35’56.82”E and then turns south east across the inner basin channel back to the commencement point at coordinate 28°46’20.69”S, 114°36’08.43”E.
