Notice of Declaration of Security Regulated Port - Port of Brisbane

Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003

I, TERASA JANE CREMER, Acting General Manager, Transport Security Operations, Office of Transport Security, under subsection 13(1) of the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003 (the Act):

REVOKE the declaration of the security regulated port of Brisbane published in the Gazette (No. S 140, 22 July 2010); and

DECLARE that the area of the port of Brisbane intended for use either wholly or partly in connection with the movement, loading, unloading, maintenance or provisioning of security regulated ships, the boundaries of which are shown on the attached map and descriptions, to be a security regulated port.

This Notice commences upon publication in the Gazette.

The Security Regulated Port of Brisbane is that area of land and water contained within and bounded by a line commencing at a point on the high water mark of the coastline of the state of Queensland approximately 6 kilometres north of Caloundra Head at latitude 26º 44‟ 49.00” south, longitude 153º 08‟ 10.68” east (point 1); thence generally northerly along the high water mark of that coastline to a point near Point Cartwright at latitude 26º 40‟ 46.66” south, longitude 153º 08’ 20.70” east (Point 2); thence north-easterly to a point at latitude 26º 39‟ 25.92” south, longitude 153º 12‟ 27.67” east (Point 3); thence south-westerly around a circular arc of 4 nautical miles radius whose origin is the Point Cartwright Lighthouse to a point at latitude 26 º 43' 57.67" south, longitude 153º 11' 01.32" east (Point 4); thence generally south south-easterly then south south-westerly along rhumb lines sequentially connecting the following points at the coordinates:

The security Regulation Port of Brisbane also includes that area of land and water surrounding the Captain Bishop Bridge commencing at the western side of the security gates on Port Road to the south of Captain Bishop Bridge, Lytton in the State of Queensland closest to the coordinate latitude 27º 24' 03.08"south, longitude 153º 09' 54.18"east (point 214); thence initially westerly and north-westerly clockwise following the security fence for approximately 65 metres through fence posts on that fence close to the following points at coordinates:

Notes:

1. The „high water mark‟ referred to in the Port Descriptions and associated maps means the line of „mean high water‟.

2. Unless otherwise stated, all coordinates are in WGS 84 geodetic datum.

3. In the event that a point of latitude and longitude which is stated to lie on the high water mark is found to lie on the landward or seaward side of the high water mark the point is to be regarded as being the point on the high water mark closest to that point of latitude and longitude.
