Draft Threat Abatement Plan for the incidental catch (or bycatch) of seabirds during oceanic longline fishing operations
The Department of the Environment and Energy is seeking written comment from interested groups and individuals on the draft Threat Abatement Plan for the incidental catch (or bycatch) of seabirds during oceanic longline fishing operations.
The draft plan addresses the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 listed key threatening process ‘the incidental catch (or bycatch) of seabirds during oceanic longline fishing operations’. It describes the research, management and other actions to reduce the impacts of the key threatening process on seabirds.
The draft threat abatement plan and instructions on how to complete a submission are available at:

The three-month public comment period will close on 30 June 2017.
