NOTICE OF APPLICATION RECEIVED UNDER THE
HAZARDOUS WASTE (REGULATION OF EXPORTS AND IMPORTS) ACT 1989
Pursuant to section 33 of the Hazardous Waste (Regulation of Exports and Imports) Act 1989, notice is given that application AUH16-051 has been received from Globecare Services, Incorporated, RM 205 Midway Court Building, 241, EDSA, Mandaluyong City, 1550, Republic of the Philippines (Telephone: +632 722 40 30; Facsimile: +632 725 74 87.
The application relates to the transit of up to 55.5 tonnes of waste electrical transformers contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls (Basel Code A3180) from the Republic of the Philippines to France for disposal operation D10 – incineration on land at the facility of Tredi Saint-Vulbas.
Written comments on the permit application may be lodged with the Department within 28 days of publication of this notice. Comments should be addressed to the Director, Hazardous Waste Section, Department of the Environment and Energy, GPO Box 787 CANBERRA ACT 2601, or forwarded by email to hwa@environment.gov.au. Respondents should be aware that comments will be shared with the applicant and should not contain commercial-in-confidence information.
