NOTICE OF APPLICATION RECEIVED UNDER THE
HAZARDOUS WASTE (REGULATION OF EXPORTS AND IMPORTS) ACT 1989
Pursuant to Section 33 of the Hazardous Waste (Regulation of Exports and Imports) Act 1989, notice is given that an application for a permit has been received from Dodd & Dodd Group Pty Ltd, 11 Kennedy Street, Maylands, Western Australia 6051. The application relates to the export of up to 5500 tonnes of used lead acid batteries to Kookjea Metallic Co. Ltd, San 10 Ogye-Ri Geumho-Eup Yeongcheon-Si, Gyeongsangbuk-Du in the Republic of Korea. The material is destined for recycling and reclamation of metals and metal compounds.
The waste will be packaged in accordance with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code P801 and transported by road to the port of Fremantle, Western Australia. The waste will then be shipped by sea to the port of Busan in the Republic of Korea and then transported by road to the recovery facility.
The movement will not transit any other port on its voyage to the Republic of Korea.
The export would take place in up to twenty (20) shipments over twelve (12) months commencing from the date of the permit, if granted.
