Explanatory Statement

Amendment of Norfolk Island (Exercise of Powers) Regulations Statutory Rules 1984 No. 33

 

(Issued under the authority of the Minister of State for Territories and Local Government)

This Statutory Rule will repeal regulation 2 of the Norfolk Island (Exercise of Powers) Regulations and re-make that regulation to insert a provision excluding from the operation of item 42 of Schedule 2 of the Norfolk Island Act 1979 any matter that relates to immigration or the operation of the Immigration Act 1980 of the Territory.
