REGULATIONS UNDER THE NATIONAL SECURITY ACT 1939-1940.*

I, THE Deputy of the GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the National Security Act 1939-1940.

Amendments of the National Security (Staff of War-time Boards) Regulations.

Minor amendments.

1. The National Security (Staff of War-time Boards) Regulations are amended as set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.

2. Regulation 5 of the National Security (Staff of War-time Boards) Regulations is repealed and the following regulation inserted in its stead:—

Definitions.

5. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears—

authority means an authority to which these Regulations apply;

officer means officer of an authority;

the Secretary, in relation to an authority, means the Secretary to, or Executive Officer of, that authority, and, in relation to an officer, means the Secretary to, or Executive Officer of, the authority of which that officer is an officer, and, in either case, includes any person for the time being acting as Secretary or Executive Officer..

Variations of salary on account of variations in cost of living.

3.—(1.) Regulation 7 of the National Security (Staff of War-time Boards) Regulations is amended by omitting the words July and January (wherever occurring) and inserting in their stead the words May and November, respectively.

(2.) This regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on the fourteenth day of May, 1942.

Second Schedule.

4. The Second Schedule to National Security (Staff of War-time Boards) Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the words Field Peas Board., Vegetable Seeds Committee. and Australian Potato Committee..

Fourth Schedule.

5. The Fourth Schedule to the National Security (Staff of Wartime Boards) Regulations is amended by inserting in Table A, before the word Typist (first occurring), the following words and figures:—
