REGULATIONS UNDER THE NATIONAL SECURITY ACT 1939-1943.*
I, THE ADMINISTRATOR of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the National Security Act 1939-1943.

Amendments of the National Security (Staff of War-time Authorities) Regulations.†
Amendment of Fifth Schedule.
1. Regulation 2 of Statutory Rules 1943, No. 285, is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—
“(2.) This regulation, insofar as it relates to the office of Quota or Contract Officer specified in the Fifth Schedule to the National Security (Staff of War-time Authorities) Regulations as inserted by this regulation, shall be deemed to have come into operation on the twenty-eighth day of July, 1943, and, insofar as it relates to the other offices specified in that Schedule, shall be deemed to have come into operation on the twenty-ninth day of November, 1943.”.
Absence from duty in case of illness or emergency.
2. Regulation 15 of the National Security (Staff of War-time Authorities) Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation

(2.) the words “exceeds one day” and inserting in their stead the words “does not exceed four days (whether in one or more absences) in any period of twelve months”.
Amendment of Fourth Schedule.
3.—(1.) The Fourth Schedule to the National Security (Staff of War-time Authorities) Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from Table A the words and figures—

(2.) The amendments effected by paragraphs (a), (b), (e) and (f) of sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on the first day of January, 1944.
(3.) The amendment effected by paragraph (c) of that sub-regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on the eighteenth day of March, 1944.
(4.) The amendment effected by paragraph (d) of that sub-regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on the first day of January, 1942.
Sixth Schedule.
4.—(1.) The Sixth Schedule to the National Security (Staff of War-time Authorities) is repealed and the following Schedule inserted in its stead:—

(2.) The amendment effected by sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on the first day of January 1944.
Amendment of Eighth Schedule.
5.—(1.) The Eighth Schedule to the National Security (Staff of War-time Authorities) Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from Table A under the heading “Head Office” the words and figures—

and

6.—(1.) The Eleventh Schedule to the National Security (Staff of War-time Authorities) Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from Table A the words and figures—
