REGULATION UNDER THE DEFENCE (TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS) ACT 1946.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Defence (Transitional Provisions) Act 1946.

Amendment of the National Security (Requisitioned Cargoes) Regulations. †

Requisitioned Cargoes Committee.

Regulation 5 of the National Security (Requisitioned Cargoes) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—

“(1.) There shall be a Requisitioned Cargoes Committee consisting of—

(a) the person for the time being holding or acting in the position of Comptroller-General of Customs;

(b) the person for the time being holding or acting in the position of Executive Officer of the Committee;

(c) a representative of the Department of the Treasury to be appointed by the Treasurer; and

(d) a person who is, or has been, actively engaged in commerce, to be appointed by the Minister.”;

(b) by omitting sub-regulation (4.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—

“(4.) The Executive Officer of the Committee shall be appointed by the Minister and shall be an officer of the Department of Trade and Customs.”; and

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (11.) the word “four” and inserting in its stead the word “three”.
