HEAVY VEHICLE NATIONAL LAW
NATIONAL HEAVY VEHICLE STANDARDS (EXTERNAL CABIN LIGHT) EXEMPTION (NOTICE) 2014 (NO. 1)
Purpose
- The purpose of this notice is to exempt heavy vehicles with white external cabin lights from complying with Section 2(1) (Third edition ADRs) of Schedule 1 to the Heavy Vehicle (Vehicle Standards) National Regulation (the National Regulation).
Authorising Provision
2. This notice is made under section 61 of the Heavy Vehicle National Law as in force in each participating jurisdiction.
Title
3. This notice may be cited as the National Heavy Vehicle Standards (External Cabin Light) Exemption (Notice) 2014 (No. 1).
Commencement
4. This notice commences on the date it is published.
Expiry
5. This notice expires 5 years after it is published.
Definitions
6. Unless otherwise stated, words and expressions used in this notice have the same meanings as those defined in the Heavy Vehicle National Law and the Australian Design Rules (ADRs).
Application
7. This notice applies to a heavy vehicle fitted with white external cabin lights.
Exemption from Prescribed Vehicle Standards
8. A heavy vehicle to which this notice applies, in respect of which compliance with an ADR mentioned in column 1 of Table 1 is required, is exempt from complying with a requirement in column 2.

Note - All other requirements of ADR 13/00 and ADR 45/01 and the National Regulation must be complied with.
I, Sal Petroccitto, delegate of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator hereby exempt the heavy vehicles specified in this notice from the stated requirements of the Heavy Vehicle (Vehicle Standards) National Regulation to the extent and on the conditions specified in this notice.
