NATIONAL GALLERY REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT)

The purpose of the National Gallery Regulations (Amendment) is to amend the National Gallery Regulations in order to prescribe exhibition areas and to exempt certain additional classes of persons, such as pensioners, from paying the entry charge into the exhibition areas. The proposed regulations will allow all persons free entry into the building other than its exhibition areas.
The amended regulations also provide for discounted tickets to be sold with a minimum of 100 tickets to be sold to each purchaser. This will be an incentive to tour operators to schedule tourist groups to visit the Gallery providing it with additional revenue.
The amended regulations also provide that articles above a certain size are prescribed articles and therefore cannot be taken into the exhibition areas. Photographic apparatus cannot be taken into the Gallery building without the consent of the Gallery Council or a person authorised by the Council to give consents.
