STATUTORY RULES.

1936. No. 133

 

REGULATIONS UNDER THE METEOROLOGY ACT 1906.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Meteorology Act 1906.

Amendments of the Meteorological Regulations.

Sale of publications.

1. Regulation 2 of the Meteorological Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting in sub-regulation (1), after the words and figures—

“Bulletins Nos. 16 and 17 2s. per copy Free”,

the words and figures—

“Bulletin No. 18 1s. 6d. per copy Free

“Bulletins Nos. 19 and 20 1s. per copy Free”;

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the word “Norman” and inserting in its stead the word “Normal”; and

(c) by inserting in sub-regulation (1), after the words and figures—

“Results of Rainfall Observations, Victoria, 1840 to 1910 

7s. 6d. per copy Free”,

the words and figures—

 

“Results of Rainfall Observations, Tasmania, all years of record to 1934

7s. 6d. per copy Free”.

Witness fees.

2. Regulation 4 of the Meteorological Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (1) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—

“(1) Where an officer is sub-pœnaed to attend as a witness before a Court, the person at whose instance he is sub-pœnaed shall, before the officer attends the Court, pay to the Commonwealth Meteorologist or his representative—

(a) a sum sufficient to pay the travelling expenses of the officer;

(b) a reasonable amount for the officer’s sustenance; and

(c) (i) if the officer is required to give evidence as to facts— expenses at the rate of £1 1s. per day; or

(ii) if the officer is required to give expert evidence— expenses at the rate of £2 2s. per day.”.
