EXPLANATORY STATEMENT

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Authority for making the instrument.  Membership of the Council Statute 2010, section 12.

 

 

2. Purpose and operation of the instrument.  The Rules provide for the methods of election of members of the Council of the University under paragraphs 10(1)(k), (l), (m), or (n) of the Australian National University Act 1991, and the maximum term of office of certain members.

 

 

3. Documents incorporated in the instrument by reference.  None.

 

 

4. Consultation process.  The Rules were made by the Council of the University on 4 June 2010.
