VARIATION TO LICENCE AREA PLAN – MILDURA/SUNRAYSIA – OCTOBER 2002

VARIATION

The Australian Broadcasting Authority has decided to vary the license area plan (LAP) for radio in the Mildura/Sunraysia region, determined in July 1995, under subsection 26(1) and varied in July 1997 under subsection 26(2) of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.

The variation comprises a change to the technical specification, as set out below:

Schedules

Each of the Schedules sets out:

• the category of each of the services that are to be available in that area (column one).
• the status of the service (column two) does not form part of the licence area plan decision and is included for reference only.
• the frequency for each transmitter (column three) does not form part of the licence area plan decision and is included for reference only.
• the service licence number which has been allocated to the service, if appropriate (column four);  N/A = Not Applicable, as the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 only requires service licences for Commercial and Community services.
• the number of transmitters required to transmit the service,
• the transmitter specification number which has been allocated to each transmitter (column five),
• the identifying number of the attachment where the technical specifications for each transmitter are described (column six).  (Each set of technical specifications referred to in the Schedules is an attachment to this determination).
• the general area served by each transmitter (column seven).

Status Column

Licensed: service is already licensed

Available: new licence available for allocation

Proposed: transmitter for existing broadcasting service licence

Alternative: alternative channel proposed for licensed service

Reserved: capacity reserved for a national or community service in accordance with Ministerial notification

  The information in the frequency column is provided as additional information to the licence area plan, and is accurate as at the date of publication.

For ease of reference, the schedule affected by this variation to the LAP has been updated to reflect the variation to the plan.

Special Condition:

The coverage of this transmission is described as that area within a radius of 12 kilometres measured from a point with the following AMG co-ordinates: Zone: 54; Easting: 607909; Northing: 6214975. This point is the same as the transmitter location.

This transmission is permitted within the defined coverage area. The transmitter may be established at an alternative site to the nominal site only within this area. A change in site from the nominal site is to be in accordance with the Change of Transmitter Site Procedure of the ABA’s Technical Planning Guidelines, and is not to result in a maximum field strength beyond the defined area in excess of that which would have been provided at the specified power and pattern from the nominal site.
