KAKADU NATIONAL PARK
PROHIBITION ON ENTRY AND REMAINING IN CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE PARK (No.4)
I, Dr James Findlay, Director of National Parks, acting pursuant to subregulation 12.23(3) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2000, having taken into account and being satisfied that access to certain areas in the Kakadu National Park (Park) might endanger public safety, HEREBY PROHIBIT the entry and remaining in areas of the Park specified in Schedule A of this prohibition, by the persons specified in Schedule A, and with effect from the time specified in Schedule A.

SCHEDULE A – Particulars of prohibition
- Prohibited areas
All areas that comprise the Park, except those areas of the Park that:
- are described in Schedule B of this prohibition and only between the hours of 6.00am and 6.00pm ACST on any day;
b. are a part of a town, outstation or other permanent residential place; or
c. are a vehicle access road or vehicle access track.
2. Prohibited persons
All persons, except persons:
- between the hours specified in item 1a. of this Schedule A, visiting a location referred to in that item;
b. at any time, visiting or remaining within a location referred to in item 1b. of this Schedule A; or
c. at any time, transiting, accessing or egressing the Park along a location referred to in item 1c. of this Schedule A to or from a location referred to in item 1a. or 1b. of this Schedule A, without stopping elsewhere in the Park except for an emergency.
Note: Certain classes of person will be exempt from this prohibition by operation of subregulations 12.06(1) and 12.23(2) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2000.
3. Prohibition commencement
This prohibition commences at 00.00am ACST on 19 June 2020.
