INSTRUMENT No 6 OF 1997

VETERANS' ENTITLEMENTS ACT 1986

EXPLANATORY NOTES FOR TABLING

The Minister has approved, under sub-section 91(3) of the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986 (the Act), and effective from 1 October 1997, the attached Instrument Number 6 of 1997. The instrument varies the Veterans' Affairs Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, and is prepared by the Repatriation Commission under sub-section 91(2) of the Act.

Variations to the Instrument:

  • delete Part II of the Veterans' Affairs Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme because that Part sets out the Repatriation Out-patient Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme which has ceased to exist as a result of the disposal of the Lady Davidson Hospital;

  • remove the current two Part division of the Principal Instrument because of the removal of Part II; and

  • update the references to the Schedule of Pharmaceutical Benefits for

Approved Pharmacists and Medical Practitioners in the definitions of "PBS Schedule" and "RPBS Schedule" in the Principal Instrument, because that

Schedule is updated every three months.
