EXPLANATORY STATEMENT
1. Authority for making the instrument. Programs and Awards Statute 2013, section 8.
2. Purpose and operation of the instrument. These Rules contain information about the honorary degrees that may be awarded by the University; and authorises the framework for the criteria for awards and procedures for the consideration of nominations.
3. Documents incorporated in the instrument by reference. None.
4. Consultation process. The Rules were considered and approved by the Council of the University on 29 May 2015.
