Issued by the authority of the Minister for Education, Science and Training

Subject:  Higher Education Support Act 2003

Amendment No. 3 to the Commonwealth Grant Scheme Guidelines

Section 238-10 of the Higher Education Support Act 2003 provides that the Minister may make guidelines for the purposes of the Act. In particular, section 238-10 specifies that the Minister may make the Commonwealth Grant Scheme Guidelines to give effect to matters set out in Part 2-2 of the Act.

The Commonwealth Grant Scheme Guidelines commenced on 2 June 2004.  These Guidelines amend the Commonwealth Grant Scheme Guidelines.

The Commonwealth Grant Scheme Guidelines are comprised of twelve chapters.  Chapter 2 specifies the higher education providers other than Table A higher education providers that are eligible for grants under Part 2-2 of the Act.  Amendment No. 3 to the Commonwealth Grant Scheme Guidelines adds the names of two new higher education providers, Tabor College and Christian Heritage College, to the list of eligible non-Table A providers in the Guidelines.

Inclusion in chapter 2 of the Guidelines enables the provision of funding for National Priority places at Tabor College and Christian Heritage College.
