Stated Maps – Amendment Notice
1 Authorising provision
This Notice is made under:
a) Section 174 of the Heavy Vehicle National Law as applied in each participating jurisdiction; or
b) Section 18 of the Heavy Vehicle (Mass, Dimension and Loading) National Regulation as applied in each participating jurisdiction.
2 Purpose
The purpose of this Notice is to amend stated maps for vehicles at the request of road managers.
3 Commencement Date
The amendments take effect 28 days after publication.
4 Title
This Notice may be cited as the Heavy Vehicle Stated Maps – Amendment Notice 2019 (No.1)
5 Application
This Notice applies in all participating jurisdictions.
6 Amendments
The specified networks in Column 2 of Schedule 1 to this Notice are amended as specified in Column 4 for the Road Manager’s reasons shown in Column 5.

s174 HVNL | New South Wales 25/26m B-Double PBS Level 2A | Murringo | Restrict the following roads: Murringo Gap Road (from Murringo Road to Murringo Flats Road) Murringo Flats Road (from Murringo Gap Road to Top Creek Lane) Top Creek Lane (from Murringo Flats Road to existing Network Termination Point) | As a matter of road safety and concrete bridge structural integrity of Hannons Bridge over Murringo Gap Road, Council requested to apply restrictions. Council has also engaged a bridge consultant who identified the structural cracking when load testing. Restrictions applied are: 1) The heavy vehicle must remain on the sealed sections of the road and avoid traveling off the edge (except in cases of emergency). This will be excluded for the gravel formation section of Murringo Flats Road and Top Creek Lane to the termination point. 2) The heavy vehicle is restricted to a maximum speed limit of 60 kph on the approved route, except where a traffic sign indicates a lower speed limit. 3) The heavy vehicles travel path must remain on the left hand side sections of the road while traversing the nominated asset 'Hannons Bridge' over Murringo Creek on Murringo Gap Road. The maximum speed during this movement is limited to 40kph. 4) During the daylight period the vehicle/s shall have their head lights on. 5) School Bus Route- The heavy vehicle must not travel during the school bus operation times on Murringo Gap Road (between Murringo Road and Murringo Flats Road) between 8:45am to 9:30am hours and 2:45pm to 3:30pm hours, and Murringo Flats Road (between Murringo Gap Road and the termination point on Top Creek Lane) between 8.30am to 9.30am hours and 2.45pm to 4.00pm hours. 6) The heavy vehicle must not travel on the approved Murringo Gap Road (between Murringo Road and Murringo Flats Road), and Murringo Flats Road, Sunset hours and Sunrise hours. |

As part of the proposal an extensive communications and engagement campaign targeting the community and industry has been taken. The survey results indicated that a significant number of business owners who responded were not highly impacted by the current truck curfews. Beach Road also provides access to many places including St Kilda foreshore area which serves as a major attraction for tourists and community (particularly during warmer months). The curfew restrictions will increase the amenity along the beach road and improve the traffic flow. VicRoads will monitor and review changes induced by the curfew and will optimise traffic signals to improve movement along Nepean Highway. |
