Stated Maps – Amendment Notice
1 Authorising provision
This Notice is made under:
a) Section 174 of the Heavy Vehicle National Law as applied in each participating jurisdiction; or
b) Section 18 of the Heavy Vehicle (Mass, Dimension and Loading) National Regulation as applied in each participating jurisdiction.
2 Purpose
The purpose of this Notice is to amend stated maps for vehicles at the request of road managers.
3 Commencement Date
The amendments take effect on 1 September 2017.
4 Title
This Notice may be cited as the Heavy Vehicle Stated Maps – Amendment Notice 2017 (No.1)
5 Application
This Notice applies in all participating jurisdictions.
6 Amendments
The specified networks in Column 2 of Schedule 1 to this Notice are amended as specified in Column 4 for the Road Manager’s reasons shown in Column 5.

s174 HVNL | New South Wales 19m B-double Route | Twelve Mile Creek | Remove the following road: The Bucketts Way between Pacific Highway and Port Stephens Council boundary | Port Stephens Council requests that this route be removed due to potential damage to road infrastructure as detailed in an assessment report commissioned by Port Stephens Council - 'Culvert/pipe structures inspections March 2016 - Old Punt Road & The Bucketts Way'. |
s174 HVNL | New South Wales 25/26m B-double Route | Moree | Add condition to the following road: Thompsons Avenue between Frome St and Gosport St “Only to be used as alternative when detour is in place.” Remove the following roads: Adelaide Street between Warialda St and Gosport St; Warialda Street between Thompsons Ave and Adelaide St; Frome Street between Balo St and Bridge St; Bridge Street between Balo St and Frome St; | Council has determined that there are issues with Public Amenity. These were disregarded for the period of gazettal, as there was no alternative available for through‐travel. With the Newell Highway Bypass now operational, Council is satisfied that access to these routes is no longer required as there are now better alternatives available and as a result these routes are being requested for removal/amendment. |

Vehicles exceeding 19 metres in length are unable to manoeuvre safely through the intersection with damage to existing road furniture. An alternate route has been provided using Dubbo Street and King Street |
s174 HVNL | New South Wales 25/26m B-double Route | Alpine | Remove the following road: The north and south bound access ramps of Hume Highway (accessing and egressing Church Rd and Old Hume Hwy) | RMS, at the request of Wingecarribee Shire Council, conducted an intersection analysis for 25m b-double combinations accessing and egressing Church Road and the Hume Hwy north and south bound and accessing and egressing the Old Hume Highway from the Hume Highway north and south bound. Results show that the combination cannot make any of these movements without impinging on and damaging existing road infrastructure. |

Council has approved the new route and recommended the removal of the existing route listed above. Consultation has occurred through Council's Traffic Facilities and Road Safety committee. |

s174 HVNL | South Australia 25/26m B-double Route | Mitchell Park | Remove the following road: Alawoona Avenue from Marion Rd to Council boundary east of Bradley Grove (in both directions) | The Mitsubishi plant at Tensely has closed and the new suburb of Tonsley is an education and residential precinct that has no requirement for heavy vehicle access. Council is looking to change the streetscape of Alawoona Avenue such that heavy vehicles would be incompatible with the road infrastructure |
s174 HVNL | South Australia B-double & Road Train Commodity Routes | Wandana | Remove the following road: Schwarz Hill Road between Goode Hall Rd and Otc Rd | Unsealed Road Pavement unable to support the passage of heavy vehicles. Safety concerns for other road users Schwarz Hill Road is a natural surface (unsealed) formed road aligned north south that services farmland north of Ceduna. Being natural surface pavement this road is only able to safely cater for a limited number of heavy vehicle movements before major deterioration of the road surface occurs. Either side of Schwarz Hill Rd there are formed and surfaced roads aligned north south that have been designed and constructed to provide safe passage for heavy vehicles, both these roads are gazetted commodity routes. Council may, on application from transport operators provide RAV access to a limited number of operators under a NHVR permit for transportation of commodities on this section of Schwarz Hill Rd. |

"No access between 8pm to 6am" (overnight restriction) | Extensive public consultation conducted by Council and at the request of the Local Councillor and the Chairman for Infrastructure. Access is still available for all industrial land uses along Queensport Road north and south of the restriction. No access exists anyway between Alexandra Place and Garrett Street. Restriction to remove unnecessary B-Double travel at night impacting on residents. |
