DECLARATION OF QUALITY ASSURANCE ACTIVITY UNDER SECTION 124X QAA No. 1/2008
This document is a compilation of the current determinations under section 124X of the Health Insurance Act 1973 (the Act).
It comprises the Declaration of Quality Assurance Activity Under Section 124X QAA No.1/2008 made on 31 March 2008, as amended by the Amendment Declaration of Quality Assurance Activity Under Section 124X QAA No. 3/2008 made on 30 July 2008.
I, Nicola Roxon, Minister for Health and Ageing, under section 124X of the Health Insurance Act 1973 (the Act):
- DECLARE the Activity described in the Schedule to this declaration (the Activity) is a quality assurance activity to which Part VC of the Act applies being satisfied in relation to the Activity that:
(i) the people engaging in the Activity are authorised to do so by an association of health professionals;
(ii) it is in the public interest that Part VC of the Act apply to the Activities having regard to the criteria prescribed in regulations 23C to 23G (inclusive) of the Health Insurance Regulations 1975.
This compilation was prepared on 20 March 2009 by the Department of Health and Ageing.

1. Organisation engaging in activity: RCPA Quality Assurance Programs Pty Limited.
Title: Key Incident Monitoring and Management System.
Description: The Activity is a quality assurance program to measure, report and monitor pre- and post- analytical laboratory incidents and errors, to enable participant laboratories to benchmark their performance and to allow laboratories to implement quality improvement activities appropriate to their performance as measured by the activity.
