Great Barrier Reef Marine Park (Cormorant Pass Section) Regulations

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Act 1975.

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park (Cormorant Pass Section) Regulations.

Interpretation

2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears—

“Cormorant Pass Section” means the area described in the Schedule to the Proclamation made on 21 October 1981 under sub-section 31 (1) of the Act and assigned by that Proclamation the name ‘Great Barrier Reef Marine Park—Cormorant Pass Section’;

“the Act” means the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Act 1975.

Offence relating to fishing

3. A person shall not, in the Cormorant Pass Section, take fish otherwise than by trolling.

Penalty: $1,000.
